Kathleen Mar ist seit 2012 am RIFS und leitet die Gruppe " Klimaschutzmaßnahmen in nationalen und internationalen Prozessen (ClimAct)". ClimAct konzentriert sich auf die Teilnahme an und das Verständnis von politischen Foren, die darauf abzielen, den Klimaschutz voranzutreiben, mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf der Klimarahmenkonvention der Vereinten Nationen (UNFCCC) und der Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC).
Kathleen promovierte in Atmosphärenchemie an der University of California, Berkeley und arbeitete bei der United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), bevor sie zum RIFS kam. Diese Perspektive - die wissenschaftliche Expertise mit praktischer Erfahrung in Politik und Verwaltung verbindet - prägt ihren Ansatz sowohl in der Forschung als auch in der politikorientierten Arbeit.
